ActionAid UK: Chembakolli learning resource
Chembakolli has been a huge success. The new site is much easier to navigate and this has been reflected in the number of teachers using it and the increase in sales figures. Chembakolli.com has allowed ActionAid to increase its presence in schools.![]()

Chembakolli online is part of a group of products aimed at helping children experience the sights and sounds of an Adivasi (tribal) village. The site includes over 300 inspiring photographs to download and print as well as activities, interviews, songs and panoramas.
There were a number of technical issues with the original Chembakolli website which Ichameleon identified and addressed. Principally, the problems originated from the fact that the whole site had been developed within its own unique browser making it difficult for the audience to access and impossible to update and maintain.
As Chembakolli was a potentially valuable resource, Ichameleon took the view that it was necessary to build a robust site that could be easily managed and accessible to all. Ichameleon was able to create a new site with an easier payment process and none of the old technical issues. Through an online administration system, managers can now:
- Add and delete products
- Maintain content
- Categorise products for easier searching
- Manage subscribers
