ActionAid UK: Site design

"Ichameleon's pro-active approach has been instrumental in helping ActionAid achieve success on the web. The increase in traffic that we have seen as a result of their strategies has secured many new supporters to help in our fight to eradicate poverty and injustice"

David Elthalion, Website Manager

Ichameleon has worked in partnership with long-standing clients, ActionAid, since the agency was formed in 2002.

The ActionAid website is a hub for many of their activities as they campaign on behalf of poor and marginalised communities in over 40 countries.

Our pro-active approach means that we are often involved in the earliest stages of a project. Recent achievements include:

  • Trebling the web audience in 2003
  • Several successful campaigns
  • Builing the supporter database
  • Increasing revenue
  • Developing CMS, the store and campaigning tools
ActionAid readily embrace all forms of interactive communication where they feel that it will benefit their audience. For instance, in 2003 they have used microsites, viral marketing and eCampaigning to great effect to highlight issues around HIV/AIDS and trade justice. Ichameleon has also worked with them to completely overhaul their popular online resource for schools, Chembakolli, making it easier to manage as well as more accessible to audiences.

Ichameleon's content management system allows individual departments greater control over the website content and makes the site accessible to all in line with ActionAid's commitment to Disability Discrimination Act compliancy.
